The wine-growing estate Azienda Agricola Nicolis Angelo & Figli is located in S.Pietro in Cariano, in the heart of the “classical” wine-growing region Valpolicella. The art of wine growing has been passed down within the family like a treasure from generation to generation, just as much as the families’ vineyards.
The “Classico”-wines, which are drunk while they are still relatively young, are grown at the foot of the hills with their deep and fertile soil; while wines which require a long process of vinification such as the valuable Amarone and Recioto wines are grown in the terraced vineyards on the slopes.
For a long time wines for local consumption and the consumption within the family were produced. Only in 1951 Angelo Nicolis started, together with his ever active wife Natalia, to expand the production for a wider market. Their involvement in the production of high quality wines received new impetus when their sons, after finishing their studies of viticulture and business management took over the management of the paternal business.
